Old Town’s Guide canoes represent a breakthrough in canoe
construction, using a special adaptation of Old Town's PolyLink3™
process that provides a durable and stiff canoe at an affordable
price. With its unique cross-section and stabilizing chines, the
Guide 147 is designed to deliver exceptional stability, as well
as rugged durability. And its sharp entry provides a surprisingly
efficient paddling canoe. It’s ideal for the outdoorsperson
looking for a canoe stable enough for fishing or nature watching,
yet versatile enough for family outings. One that’s tough
and durable, at an affordable price!
What is PolyLink 3™?:
PolyLink3™ is a three-layer roto-molded process. This technology
allows Old Town to produce a stiffer craft than traditional single-layered
canoes and omits the need for a keel. Because the foam core provides
such exceptional stiffness, less material is needed in the hull
so weight is kept low. The core also provides built-in flotation
and insulation from cold and noise.
