Description

The AdvancedFrame® Expedition Elite is the natural evolution of inflatable kayaks. A hybrid of a folding frame kayak and an inflatable kayak, the Expedition incorporates our proven aluminum rib-frame technology in the bow and stern, and Drop-stitch technology in the floor, to provide paddling performance that rivals that of a hard-shell kayak. Working together to deliver optimal paddling performance, the aluminum ribs form a shape that cuts through the water while the Drop-stitch floor provides unparalleled rigidity in an inflatable and creates hull chine. At 13’ long, with plenty of storage space, the Expedition Elite is the perfect kayak for any adventure!

Features Drop-stitch Technology!
As shown in our inflatable standup paddle boards, drop-stitch technology allows us to create high pressure forms that are extremely rigid. The drop-stitch floor in this kayak creates a hull with chine, which enhances the tracking and hull speed, and adds unparalleled rigidity in an inflatable kayak.

Advanced Frame Expedition Elite Inflatable Kayak

Posted by Taty on 2021 Apr 17th

An excellent product among inflatable kayaks. Compact and easy to store and transport. Does not really suit for sport kayaking (not as fast as the hard-shell kayaks); however, due to extra frame is more stable and faster than the Ultra-light Advanced Element kayak. The best performance is on lakes and slow-moving water bodies. Any moving water with stronger current (tried sea beside Belcarra Regional Park and Fraser river from Deas island to Ladner Harbour Boat Basin) makes you work harder and reduces the boat's efficiency, but again, this kayak is very comfortable and save if you go for the enjoyment and nature experience rather than water sport. It is important to make sure to inflate each chamber as per instruction and to set up the sit in the most comfortable position before getting onto the water. This kayak has lots of storage space and well reinforced bow and stern. A high quality product!

Blue but should have been orange

Posted by Paul Forde on 2020 Aug 27th

I like this kayak for its ease of storage and use. I do wish it came in orange instead of blue because....orange is just sooo much more visible to other boaters out on the water. Its a safety issue. But otherwise, the craft handles well and seems durable. I have only had it for a month, so ...early days eh. But so far...liking it. Kind of wish it had a place or hook to keep things quickly available in the front. The bungee cords are okay, but could use something in the seat interior. I wanted a hardy boat and I think I got one. : )

    I'm really enjoying this kayak!

Posted by Brenda on 2020 Jun 19th

I haven't owned a hard kayak so can't comment on how this compares. I wanted inflatable due to space limitations. I ordered this model because of reviews on how the drop stitch floor improves tracking, and the extra length allows my 6'1" husband to fit comfortably as well. I am 5'2" and was a little worried it would feel too big (as most things do) but the foot support has a setting that's just right for me to use my whole body when paddling, and the width hasn't been an issue. I have found it easy to blow up, take down, and very convenient to take along anywhere. It tracks well and is incredibly stable. I have tipped an ocean kayak getting in improperly, but with this one I don't have to be nearly as careful on entry and exit. The little water that gets in seems to sit under the drop stitch floor so I remove that every time to dry underneath. I find the material covering the 2 main air chambers stays damp for quite a while after use. I have bought water proofing spray in the hopes of making the fabric absorb less water. The hatch in the rear is not waterproof so dry bags are needed. This kayak isn't light, about 45 lbs so can be a challenge to carry as a backpack. A carry bag with wheels (like what came with my husband's 26 lb Nixy paddleboard) would have been better. I have used this on prairie and mountain lakes and am really enjoying it! I am considering the optional rudder which might be handy for longer trips or ocean kayaking. This goes everywhere with us now!

Very stable and one good-looking kayak!

    Posted by girlyBrilliance.ca on 2019 May 5th

As a small living enthusiast, I wanted a kayak that suited my lifestyle: ease of portability and storage. Each kayak comes in its own carry bag, which can act as a backpack as well. Easy to store - it doesn’t take up much space, and tucks into the boot of my car. Easy to inflate and deflate, good trackability, very stable and one good-looking kayak!
