This is a very well built cart. Not the lightest or most compact, but it works very well

I was pleased to find a cart that can easily carry my Davidson 12. I have made an addition and an adjustment to suit my purpose. The cart has no 'stand' to prop it up while loading, this is easily fixed by putting a bit of bungee cord around each end of one bunk and sliding a stick or doweling or in my case the thick end of an old FG fishing pole about four feet long under them. On my rowboat the original positioning of the bunks landed in an unsupported area of fibreglass so that the glass flexed to much. I made new spacers for the axle (they're plastic electrical conduit) so that the bunks are now a few inches apart, close on each side of the keel. I have adjusted the strap attachment accordingly. This does lower the capacity of the cart as I am loading the axle closer to the centre. A great product, made in Canada, adaptable and adjustable! It carries my boat across the road down a loose gravel trail through a bit of mud and over a cobblestone beach and back.

Been using this cart for my 15.5 Kraken this past season. My kayak is 110lbs SOT so not practical to carry long distances. The cart has been awesome. Haven't tried backwoods yet, but works fine on grass, gravel and pavement. A bit tougher to pull on sand, but way better than carrying.

I bought this dolly to use for my jon boat so I have the ability to get into back country lakes for fishing. This Dolly exceeded by expectations. After trying it on a few back country fishing trips I used it on a small canoe trip with my family and again I was extremely satisfied with the functionality of this dolly. it handled all the terrain I put it through without giving me any problems. I would I highly recommend this canoe dolly to anyone looking for a dolly for their canoe excursions.

  • extreme heavy duty!

I received this expedition canoe cart and all I can say is "WOW!" It's big, it's heavy, it's overbuilt, it will probably last me the rest of my life...all this is exactly what I needed. I frequently portage with an 80 lb. Old Town Penobscot plus over 150 lbs. of gear, and this canoe cart is the ONLY one I trust now. I also have to give big time kudos to the staff at Western Canoe & Kayak. They are based in British Columbia and I'm in South Carolina. It arrived at my doorstep in 3 business days with standard shipping. Thanks WCK!! Bottom line: don't hesitate to buy this if you're looking for extreme heavy duty and great customer service!!
