First Ride: Old Town Predator XL

One of the most hyped up new kayaks for this season is Old Town’s Predator XL Minn-Kota powered fishing kayak. For anyone that fishes it’s hard to deny the cool factor of a fishing kayak with a trolling motor.
So, what can a 92lb kayak with a 45lb thrust electric trolling motor do on the water? I went out last night to find out for myself. Check out this short video of the Predator terrorizing the Lower Vedder River after work. Really looking forward to catching some fish from this thing this year. Sturgeon anyone?
The Predator could comfortably cruise at 12km/h, I rafted up with another kayak and paddle board and could steadily at 7km/h.
