very uncomfortable for portaging
I was very excited when I discovered these water shoes. They are described as being a rugged water shoe for both paddling and portaging/hiking, which is what I was specifically looking for. They are indeed built quite sturdy, however, I quickly realized that they are not suitable for walking in at any decent length. The reason is the back collar of the shoe is quite rigid, with little to no padding. It digs into my upper heels/achilles area without fail. I've never had problems with blisters before, even with new shoes, and the sizing was perfect. The design of the rigid back collar seems like a big oversight. Unfortunately these shoes will not serve as a portage shoe, which defeats their purpose in my opinion. The product description is very misleading. Very frustrating as they were quite expensive!
