Dave Prothero

Born in Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, David's passion for rivers began in 1995 during the Yamnuska Program in the Rockies, leading to a rafting trip in Nepal on the Kali Gandaki. After learning kayaking in Banff and rafting the Bow River, he went on to raft and kayak globally. Now back on Vancouver Island, David teaches kayaking and rafting with the ROAMS program and Canadian Outdoor Leadership Training at North Island College. He also works in healthcare and guides multi-day trips in the Yukon for Canadian River Expeditions. A frequent paddler on Vancouver Island's rivers, his favorite is the Puntledge, known for its waves and play features.
